I’m Grace, a singer, songwriter, musician, performer, singing teacher and vocal coach based in London, UK. I’ve been giving voice lessons for over 20 years, teaching both groups and one to one tuition, as well as arranging workshops. I have plenty of experience both live and in the recording studio. I teach all genres, in English or Italian.
Whether you’re an experienced professional or an absolute beginner, a singer who struggles with tone and pitch, an actor or voice over artist, a teacher or public speaker struggling with hoarseness and fatigue, I can help you with tuition tailored to your needs.
In addition to musicians, I’m happy to teach non-musicians who want to learn singing as a new skill, harnessing the power of their own voice as a healing tool, or simply for the fun of it. Singing is a wonderful way to get to know yourself and to develop personal freedom. I can help you discover your voice and cultivate energy and beauty through singing, humming and various vocal techniques. No prior experience is needed and nobody is refused on the basis of their vocal abilities.
I have a holistic approach to teaching. My lessons incorporate various elements that are part of my education and background – see below ‘About me’. Also regular yoga training and NIA dance play a fundamental role in my teaching style, with an emphasis on performance and using the body as a whole.
Our bodies act as resonators for the vocal chords, giving warmth, color, plasticity and power to the voice while amplifying its frequencies and emotions.
The sensation of having a ‘stuck voice’ (voice stuck in your throat) can happen to everyone and it’s more common than we think, due to general tension in the body.
My relaxation exercises can help you identify and overcome emotional tension, unblocking your voice to its full potential and giving you full body awareness.
A few of the tools I can provide you with:
- Breathing techniques: exercises to give you knowledge, the basis of voice training and the foundation for all singing styles and correct speaking
- Vocal training: warm-ups, pitch, range, tone, vocal agility, rhythm, power, interpretation, expressing emotions
- Body training: onstage presence, spatial awareness, balance, flexibility and strength, stretching exercises and muscle activation to empower you and your voice
- Relaxation techniques: ease off tension, self-massage, feel the voice/body/soul connection, recognize emotional/physical blockages, gain confidence, feel at ease and natural when singing and speaking in front of an audience, conquer stage fright
- Discover/unlock creativity: visualization exercises, improvisation, melody and lyric creation
I’m the founder and front-woman of the rock band Grace Solero, with whom I’ve recorded 3 studio albums and toured extensively. Our new album is due for release in 2021.
I’m also part of The Twilight Zone, a dreamy, ethereal trio with legendary pedal steel player BJ Cole and talented guitarist Dan Beaulaurier.
I perform regularly in Europe and the USA, both solo and with my band.
I’m a licensed London Underground busker and perform across the network.
I do sessions in recording studios as a vocalist and voiceover artist.
I write music and lyrics on commission as well as for my own repertoire and I’ve been co-writing with several musicians.
I’m a former gymnast. In my teens I was trained by a soprano opera singer and then moved on to study and sing the most diverse genres, from jazz to rock/metal and everything in between.
I have a BA in Acting. I studied ancient Greek and Latin and I’ve been working in several theater productions (Greek tragedy, Shakespeare, Tennessee Williams, Ibsen, Chekhov, Oscar Wilde, Pirandello). I studied contemporary dance.
I teach from my home studio in London and also online via Skype/Zoom. Get in touch to discuss options and prices. I encourage my students to record their lessons, so when they practice at home they can listen back to the recording as a reference.
I am also available for on-hand coaching during studio time/vocal tracking, the fee for which can be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
I’m available to teach small groups in corporate settings. Prices to be discussed depending on content and location.
I’m deeply passionate about teaching. I’m in love with human beings and their characteristics, and always thrilled to be able to help people find and develop their voice.
Feel free to get in touch with any questions you might have.
Thanks for your interest in my voice lessons and I look forward to hearing from you!

“I had a number of lessons with Grace and the improvement in my breathing and singing was huge. She is a great teacher and very insightful, highly recommended if you want to improve your technique and voice.”
(Peter Evans – Artist)
“Grace is an amazing singing teacher. When I first saw Grace I couldn’t sing a note and was a complete beginner. But after a few lessons she patiently and clearly showed me how to expand my range, control my breathing and hold a note. I still remember the joy I felt at hitting the high note in “Light my Fire’ by the Doors. She gave me the confidence to start writing my own songs and form a band. My songs received airplay on BBC and Absolute Radio. I can’t recommend Grace enough. For either a complete novice or for singers looking to expand their abilities, she is a great singing teacher.”
(Paul Nicholson – Singer / Songwriter)
“Was truly a pleasure working with Grace, she helped me understand all aspects of singing, in safe and detailed program, irrelevant of style or level. Always elaborative, attentive and patient, but will push you when necessary. Comprehensive and professional lessons you will most certainly enjoy”
(Tony Vega – Frontman in REVERTED)
“I can thoroughly recommend Grace as a singing teacher. I took some lessons with her a year and a half ago and really enjoyed her vocal lessons. Grace has studied both operatic and contemporary vocal styles and has an all round knowledge of vocal techniques. She has first hand experience of both voice training and performing as a singer. She taught me important breathing techniques, stretching techniques, how to project different types of vocal sounds and also gave me some very useful exercises on ways to expand my vocal range as well as teaching me about how to safeguard my voice from potential strain. Her lessons helped me to develop more confidence in my singing and ability to project. Above all she was friendly, unintimidating and constantly encouraged me.”
(Anna Lucas – Community Music Facilitator)
“I went to Grace for help in preparing for a Play with Music. She helped me get to good level in a few short lessons and made it so much easier for me! Many thanks!”
(Brian Marks – Actor)
“I’ve had lessons with Grace for many years. She has an incredible voice and her range is very versatile. You can learn different styles, from rock to folk, pop and classical. She taught me how to engage with my diaphragm and how to store extra oxygen in my lungs to hold longer notes. Great class where you are not only learning about your voice but also how to control your breath during a performance. I highly recommend.”
(Simona Martini – Actor / Singer)
“Singing lessons is something I had always thought about as something just for me. I loved that Grace takes a holistic approach & it was interesting to learn more about how your whole body is used to sing; strengthening my core and changing the sounds you can make by using facial muscles. I enjoyed breaking down the songs into parts & then reassembling them once practiced. An all round great hobby & bucket list ticked.”
(Laura Newman – Counsellor)
